The Mandate

Hatwit International is conducting a confidential search for a Lead Data Architect for a well-established international company operating in a highly regulated and data-intensive environment.

The organisation is progressing through a significant data transformation, with the ambition to strengthen its data management capabilities, modernise its architecture and build the foundations for a more mature, data-driven organisation.

A new data lakehouse environment is being developed on an existing architecture and approved transformation roadmap.

The Role

The Lead Data Architect will act as the technical lead for the Data Management transformation, defining and validating the future data architecture and guiding its implementation.

The role combines deep data architecture expertise with technical leadership, stakeholder influence and team development.

It will also play a central role in building stronger internal capability around data architecture and supporting the transition toward greater internal ownership of the platform.

The Leadership Mandate

Define and evolve the target data architecture.
Lead the implementation of the data lakehouse environment.
Ensure effective integration of data from multiple internal systems.
Establish architecture principles, standards and technical governance.
Validate and supervise data-related solutions and implementations.
Build and coordinate an initial specialist data team.
Work closely with Technology, Data Management and business stakeholders.

Leadership Profile

We are particularly interested in experienced Data Architects / Lead Data Architects with exposure to major data transformation or modernisation programmes.

Strong experience in cloud-based data environments and GCP is highly relevant, together with expertise in data architecture, integration, governance and modern data platforms.

The relevant profile combines technical depth with autonomy, resilience and the ability to influence stakeholders and guide architectural decisions in a complex environment.

Relevant certifications in architecture, cloud or data, including TOGAF and GCP-related certifications, are considered an advantage.

Hatwit Search Perspective

Relevant profiles may come from advanced data environments across Telecommunications, Financial Services, Insurance, Technology or Management Consulting, where cloud transformation and modern data architectures are more mature.

We are assessing evidence of having designed and implemented complex data architectures, together with the ability to build internal capability and act as a credible technical reference point across the organisation.
